The winds of change are upon us. Ayurveda, the ancient system of conscious healing, teaches us when there is wind outside, we should be prepared for wind inside. We are all a part of nature. As we come into the Fall and Winter season, or Vata season it is called in Ayurveda, the outside becomes windy and dry as the leaves fall from the trees. Since we are one with nature, a direct reflection in fact, this explains why we also feel both windy and dry in ourselves. On the inside the mind starts to move, we become anxious, often feeling ungrounded, unable to make a choice or decision. At night the internal wind tends to wake us up often causing insomnia. Take that wind one step further and dryness starts to occur on the body causing cold hands and feet and constipation from too much movement, too much activity, and too much cold.
